Dojo is translated as the "Way Place" or the place where we learn the way to find ourselves.

Yamaji is the poetic form of the "Mountain Path".  Since studying Kyudo is like climbing a mountain whose top is shrouded in clouds.  We never know when we'll reach the summit.  It is also a rough mountain so at times we will need a helping hand to make it up, while at other times we will need to extend our hand to help others make the climb.  For these reasons we call our school Yamaji Dojo.
